September 2016 Xbox Games with Gold Announced

Microsoft recently announced the list of Xbox Games with Gold that will be available in September 2016, and there is an interesting mix of genres you will be able to play on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

If you are an active Xbox Live Gold member you can download all of these games for free during their availability period and they will remain in your library as long as you keep your membership active.

Furthermore, the Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible, meaning that if you have an Xbox One you can play all four games for free.

Without further ado, here are the free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

Earthlock: Festival of Magic – Xbox One

Earthlock: Festival of Magic will be available starting September 1 until September 30.

Developed by Snowcastle Games, Earthlock: Festival of Magic sends players to Umbra, a planet affected by a cataclysmic event.

Earthlock: Festival of Magic is a non-linear TBS (turn-based strategy) video game.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China – Xbox One

The first installment in the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles series will be available between September 16 and October 15.

Unlike other AC games, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is a 2.5D side scrolling platformer developed by Climax Studios.

The action in the game takes place after the events from the Assassin’s Creed: Embers movie, and you will play as Shao Jun.

Forza Horizon – Xbox 360

If you are in the mood to race against your friends, Microsoft got you covered, because you will be able to play Forza Horizon for free starting September 1.

The game will be removed on September 15 so make sure you act fast. Forza Horizon was developed by Playground Games and was released in 2012.

Forza Horizon allows you to enter the Horizon Festival and test your driving skills in various events. The game features multiple collectibles and hidden cars to be found. While exploring the map you can also listen to various songs aired by the local radio stations.

Mirror’s Edge – Xbox 360

Mirror’s Edge will become available on September 16 and you have exactly two weeks to get it until it will be removed (September 30).

Developed by EA DICE, Mirror’s Edge was released in 2008 and it is an action-adventure platformer focused on Faith Connors, a runner from the city known as Glass.

As Faith, you will have to fight against the leaders of the city who control all communications and media, using her unbeatable parkour moves.

A reboot of Mirror’s Edge, named Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, was released on June 7, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
