Harley Quinn is a Gadget User and a playable character in Injustice: Gods Among Us. She is also a member of Batman’s Insurgency, even if at the beginning of the video game she helps Joker to destroy Metropolis.

Harley Quinn can’t be accessed in Story Mode, but she appears multiple times in various cutscenes, playing an important role as an Insurgent. Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, or Harley Quinn, debuted in Batman: The Animated Series (1992).

She is a supervillain, created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm; however, Harley Quinn wasn’t always a villain. In fact, Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel was a psychiatrist working in Arkham Asylum, who is seduced by The Joker; thus, becoming his sidekick.

In the Injustice: Gods Among Us comic book, Harley Quinn helps The Joker to trick Superman by administrating the toxin they have from Scarecrow.

The events that occur later, lead to the explosion that destroys Metropolis. In the fighting video game, Harley Quinn can be seen standing alongside Joker in the introductory cutscene, and helping him prepare the bomb they have from Lex Luthor.

After Superman impales Joker, the action moves to the parallel universe where Harley Quinn meets the duplicate version of his beloved one. Knowing that the Joker was killed by Superman, Harley Quinn fights the duplicate version and realizes that he is the real Mistah J., even if he comes from a different universe.

Harley Quinn takes the Joker to Arkham Asylum, where she was hiding along with the Joker Clan from Superman’s Regime. The faction known as the Joker Clan was created in Joker’s memory, and serves as an important ally to the Insurgents led by Batman.

Moments later, after Joker sees his clan, he quickly assumes control over it, in order to take over the city. Unfortunately for him, during his speech, several members of the Regime including Hawkgirl and Nightwing reach Harleen’s hideout.

Harleen quickly calls Batman and after they defeat Superman’s allies, The Dark Knight asks her to lay low, but he takes Joker into custody.

As the events continue to unfold, Harley Quinn continues to help Batman when he asks her to keep Superman’s forces busy while he infiltrates Stryker’s Island, to save his duplicate version. At this point; however, Harley Quinn decides to help Batman and also free the Joker from his prison, realizing that she was making a mistake.

Once the Joker is set free, Harley Quinn helps him to highjack a vehicle, but they encounter Lex Luthor who was trying to reach the Insurgents. When Joker sees Luthor’s suit, he orders Harley Quinn to defeat him so he can have it, but Lex Luthor wins the fight.

Upset, Joker tries to kill Harleen, but Luthor stops him and defeats him as well. The events take a strange turn when Harleen tries to kill Joker, saved by Luthor who interferes and tells her that she is better than Joker. Harleen’s alternate ending; however, reveals the fact that she eventually kills Joker during their wedding, after the Joker throws the wedding cake into her face.

According to the description “years of abuse took its toll “and Harleen slashed Joker’s throat; a crime for which she was imprisoned in Arkham Asylum.
