The first part in Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is known as the Prologue. When the game starts, watch the introductory cutscene showing an assassin attacking the ship where one of the kings enjoys an archery contest. After the assassin completes his mission, you will be able to access the game’s menu.
Start a new game and you will be asked if you wish to play the tutorial first. It is a good idea to complete the tutorial, especially, if you never played the first game, or if you played the Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings on PC; because you will be able to familiarize yourself with the game’s controls. You will also learn how to track quests, how to access your inventory and weapons, and how to create potions.
If you wish to skip the tutorial, select a difficulty level and watch the next cutscene, which reveals the events that occurred after the first Witcher video game.
The cutscene shows Geralt of Rivia chased by two assassins, then the dream suddenly interrupts and you wake up in a cell, guarded by two soldiers. Seems like they argue over a dice game and they found a way to practice their combat skills, using you as a punch bag. Their training session ends when their leader appears and tells them to take you to the interrogation room.
During the first part of the interrogation you find out that you are talking to Vernon Roche, the leader of the Temerian Special Forces. He wishes to find out what happened when the king called for you, and he gives you two choices. You can tell the story or he will hang you…which means that you have only one option. You should tell the story from the beginning, “That morning when the King summoned you”.
Note: By The King’s Will main quest starts now.
